Waterproof, easy to cinch up all my wet gear, drain by turning sideways, then carry it all home. Dirt shakes off easily after it dries.

As shown in the product images, this product is basically shaped like a shallow circular tub, 30" in diameter and 7" deep. The rim is just a fabric and not stiff, so it doesn't stand up. But it still helps keep sands off the floor of the mat. The fabric is somewhat like that of a bike rain cover but a heavier, more durable material. The upper side of the floor of the tub - where you stand - is PVC-coated, making the floor a bit stiffer and more durable, as well as making it easier to wash or brush off sands after use. It also helps protect your feet from any sharp objects that wind up under the floor. There is a drawstring running through the upper perimeter of the 7" high rim, whose length can be adjusted using 2 cord locks located at opposite ends. So the whole thing can be made into a (sort of) large burrito-like basket to carry things in it, like wetsuits and towels. There are 2 small sewn loops/handles on the rim, so you can use them for this purpose.Likes:- Upper side of the mat is PVC-coated. I bought this mat after looking through several others. I picked this one because it had its own pouch and it's waterproof. I was looking for something specifically to use after water aerobics to put on the floor other than a towel so I could change and keep my feet off the floor of the locker room and keep my clothes dry. Now, I put the mat down, put my towel inside it and get changed into dry clothes without worrying that my feet and/or dry clothing is getting wet from the floor. It's seems to be more sanitary and easy to use. I was able to put it into another waterproof bag to transport home. I kept my wet items inside, so obviously, it would not be able to fold back into it's pouch at that time. When I returned home, I wiped the bottom with a disinfectant wipe and folded it back into it's pouch for the next time. It's seems to be constructed well. No issues with the seams or drawstrings at this point.

I have been looking for a mat to stand on outside my car, while I change my clothes in the dirt parking lot after paddling practice and this fit the bill perfectly. The bag arrived wrapped up in it’s attached storage case. I opened it up first in my living room and found it to be of excellent quality and very spacious (see pics for measurements). This bag is not made to be entirely “water proof” so keep that in mind if you plan to put super soaked items in it and then want to keep the area you set the bag on completely dry. If you plan to use this for damp items you should have no problem. The items I placed it it were pretty wet but not dripping and no dampness escaped. The material on the bottom of the bag is definitely water resistant but the sides is just a medium weight canvas similar to that of a wind breaker material. The draw strings are excellent quality as are the cord locks. The two attached webbing handles are wide and of a good length making the bag easy to carry. The whole bag seems well sewn and sturdy. I practiced using the draw strings to pull the edges up into a ball and familiarized myself with how to use the handles then it was off to paddling practice! After practice, I pulled the bag out of my backpack where it fit nicely, opened it up and changed out of my wet clothing. I left it all in a pile, tossed in my water shoes and pulled the whole thing up in one big ball, secured the strings and that was that. I would estimate with weekly use this product could last at least several seasons or more even, with good upkeep and time to dry between uses. It kept the back of my car dry and I emptied it and hung it up in my shower to dry. Note: haven’t used this in sand or on grass yet, but if you plan to lay this down in the dirt as I did, it will pick up some dust. I just used a small towel to dust it off and it was fine. Not a big deal to me but if you are really concerned with a little dust in your car, just an FYI. Over all a very handy product they I have already recommended to some of my teammates.

It folds up small when not in use. Nice to use when getting gear on and off, especially in the sand. It wraps around your gear when done to hold it all together until you can clean it. It’s durable and well made.
