A Race Through the Carpathian Mountains
Set in the rugged landscapes of Romania's Carpathian Mountains, Bucovina Ultra Rocks by UTMB brings runners into a unique mountain environment shaped by steep climbs, technical trails, and changing conditions.
Among the event’s races, Lady's Rocks offers a true mountain challenge, taking runners through the landscapes surrounding Pietrele Doamnei and Giumalău, where elevation, terrain, and weather all play a role.
For Christoph Kahl, the race was an opportunity to experience the beauty and difficulty of mountain running in one of Romania's most unique landscapes.

29.8 Miles of Climbing and Technical Terrain
Lady's Rocks challenged runners with 29.8 miles and 10,498+ ft of elevation gain through rugged mountain terrain.
The course demanded constant focus, with steep climbs, technical sections, and wet, muddy trails making every mile a test of control and endurance.
Despite the challenging conditions, Christoph stayed focused through more than six hours on the trail, navigating the changing terrain and completing the course.

A Strong Performance in Challenging Conditions
Christoph finished Lady's Rocks in 6:38:06, placing 17th overall and taking the win in his age group.
After the race, Christoph shared that he was very happy with the result and enjoyed the challenge of racing through wet and muddy conditions.
The performance was a reflection of preparation, experience, and the ability to stay comfortable and focused when the mountain environment changes.

Beyond the Finish Line
The challenge of Lady's Rocks was shaped by more than distance and elevation.
The steep climbs, technical terrain, and unpredictable weather created an experience that went beyond the numbers.
For Christoph, the race was another opportunity to explore what makes mountain running special — experiencing wild landscapes, adapting to the trail, and enjoying every mile along the way.
