Running in the mountains makes me feel free; every trail is a new adventure, and every kilometer is a chance to push my limits."

I’m Samu, a mountain runner who found his true passion in 2016 after years of MTB, duathlon, and triathlon. Trail running isn’t just a sport for me; it’s a way to escape the ordinary, explore hidden corners of the world, and reconnect with myself. I love driving my camper van to remote villages, discovering trails untouched by most, and challenging my limits on rugged paths.

Beyond running, I cycle, train functional strength at Tokipa, and share laughs with friends around a campfire after a long day in the mountains. Some of my wildest experiences include running 130 km in pouring rain, feeling completely exhausted yet exhilarated, or pushing through a race so tough that hallucinations became part of the journey.

My pre-race ritual is simple but sacred: a good sourdough pizza, a strong coffee, and avocado toast with egg. What truly drives me is giving my all in every race; no matter the result, the effort is always worth it.

"The best experiences come from trying again when things don’t go as planned; if you give it your all, it will always be worth it."
