Tim Vail

Running and life are very alike in that there are always going tobeing highs and lows in both. Running trains the individual to prepare for life in that life nevergets easier the individual just gets stronger, same with running it never gets easier the personjust gets stronger.

When I run on the trails, I'm combating the pressure of modern life to be complacent and comfortable. I'm actively seeking to do something difficult, to connect myself with nature, and to engage my body in the activity that it was designed for, in a world that often feels like it's meant to do the opposite.

Nathan Brown

Brown wasn’t always a runner, he was far from the most dedicated athlete. That changed in 2016 when he joined the Air Force as a SERE Specialist candidate, surrounded by driven people who completely shifted his mindset. A scorching hot run with his cadre—full of calisthenics and quitting—became the moment he fell in love with suffering and the mental battle of endurance.

Now, Brown races 100-milers to genuinely compete, not just survive, and runs to show his young daughter what true grit and dedication look like. He believes that even when training isn't perfect, you can still show up, push your limits, and perform.

Running is more than an activity for me, it’s a connection to the land, to my culture, and to my ancestors. As a Diné (Navajo) woman, every step I take on the trail carries meaning. It’s a relationship with Mother Earth, a way of honoring where I come from and who I am. The trails are where I go to center myself, to heal, and to listen. Running isn’t just movement, it’s medicine.

Joel Payeur

"Trail running is my freedom."

For me, the trails aren’t just about competition; they’re about exploring those places most people never see, feeling that wild freedom in every step. My favorite race distance? The 100km mark. It’s grueling, but it’s also the ultimate test of body and mind. That 100km distance is where I truly learn what I’m capable of.

I've always loved the mountains and running among their trees and rocks. One of my most memorable race experiences was snowrunning in the Sierra Nevada, running at night in the snow, darkness all around, with cold, wind, and rain — just me and the mountain. That feeling of solitude and connection with nature is unforgettable. My pre-race ritual is a short jog to release nerves while chatting with fellow competitors.

Samuel Almagro Atienza

I’m Samu, a mountain runner who found his true passion in 2016 after years of MTB, duathlon, and triathlon. Trail running isn’t just a sport for me; it’s a way to escape the ordinary, explore hidden corners of the world, and reconnect with myself. I love driving my camper van to remote villages, discovering trails untouched by most, and challenging my limits on rugged paths.
