“Stop hesitating—just go for it!” — A voice of determination from the mountains

August 31, 2025 – Pyrenees, Spain — Canadian trail runner Joel Payeur (42) achieved an impressive 5th place overall at the renowned Pyrenees Stage Run, completing 223 kilometers with over 15,000 meters of elevation gain in approximately 28 hours.

The journey across the rugged peaks of the Pyrenees was not only a test of endurance but also a celebration of resilience and camaraderie.

Conquering the Mountains: More Than Just Distance

“This was an extremely difficult race,” Joel recalls.

“I had cramps on the first day, probably due to jet lag, but after some rest, I recovered completely.”

What truly carried him through the challenge was the companionship of fellow runners.

“The most memorable moments were running alongside friends, encouraging each other through every climb and descent.”

For Joel, crossing the finish line symbolized more than a result—it was a personal revelation.

“Finishing this race means we’re capable of far more than we think.”

The Power of Gear: Lightweight, Comfortable, and Reliable

Throughout the race, Joel relied on his Haimont 8L Trail Vest, race T-shirt, and 5-inch shorts.

“The vest held all my essentials and extra gear for rest stops. It never caused any chafing and felt incredibly breathable and light,” he explained.

What impressed him most were the thoughtful details:

“The T-shirt is super light and seamless. The trekking pole attachment on the back of the vest pack is very practical, and the small built-in trash pocket is such a smart touch.”

Every design element reflected Haimont’s commitment to creating performance gear that supports real runners—helping them stay focused, efficient, and free on the trails.
